UPDATE...OCTOBER 30, 2009
Kathey Bailey, of KB Training Center, called to let me know that Ebbie took Junior Mare Champion and Copper took Junior Mare Champion and Reserve Grand Champion in halter at the Ocala, Florida show. The girls took 1st and 2nd in the color class. YAH!
Busy...Busy...Weekend
May 23, 2009, Ebbie, Copper and I went to our 2nd show. It was held in the beautiful Ike Hamilton Arena in West Monroe, LA.
Due to family scheduling conflicts, we were only able to participate in the AMHR show on Saturday. Poor Copper got left out of the AMHA show but I did show her in two AMHR events in the under group. Ebbie got to shine in the over events.
Copper got 3 first place ribbons, a third place ribbon, a fourth place ribbon and a fifth place ribbon.
Ebbie got 5 first place ribbons, 2 second place ribbons, one third place ribbon and then...Junior Reserve Champion and Reserve Grand Champion.
You may notice the very well know breeder, Erica Killion, was showing with me in these classes. In fact she and her beautiful horse won Grand Champion. Much deserved.
June 21 & 22, 2008 Show Pictures
This was the first time I had ever shown my own horses. In 2007 a friend asked me to ride to Glen Rose, TX for a show she was in, as a companion. While there she entered me with one of her horses in a color class. I didn't have to do anything. Ha!
In 2008 I decided to try with my two girls. The first day with Ebbie was not good. I was so nervous and I made so many mistakes. Thanks to the Judges and others, the second day with Copper I was better.
Ebbie took 6 firsts, 1 second, 1 fifth and 1 sixth.
Copper took 5 firsts, 3 thirds and 1 fourth.
